Domaine Pierre Amiot – Morey Saint Denis
The Domaine Pierre Amiot, with cellars located in the center of the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, has been producing wine for five generations. The estate is comprised of 8 hectares of vineyard in Morey-Saint Denis and Gevrey Chambertin including 40 separate parcels on limestone and clay-limestone soils.
The current owners, Jean-Louis and Didier Amiot, farm sustainably, making every effort to produce clean, healthy fruit that retains the particular characteristics of the various terroirs. The grapes are hand harvested and 70-100% destemmed. Cold maceration lasts 5-7 days with fermentation on natural yeast for 10 days. Elevage in barrel lasts 15-18 months with the 1er cru in 30% new barrels and the Grands Crus 50%.
The wines of the estate are made in a distinctly pure, elegant style combining lovely aromatics, complex fruit, supple tannins and silky texture.
