| Ch. Des Tuileries (Lalande de Pomerol) |
| Producer Ch. des Tuileries (Lalande de Pomerol) Region Bordeaux, France Encepagement 60% Merlot 40% Cabernet Franc Elevage Twenty-year-old vines. Harvested manually. Long, cold maceration. Vinified in concrete vats. Aged one-third in new barrels, one-third in one-year barrels and one-third in two-year-barrels. Description Particularly on the right bank and among the Merlot-based wines, the 2001 vintage may well prove to be superior to the heralded 2000 vintage. Certainly the 2001 Ch. des Tuileries is an excellent example of the purity and concentration of the 2001 vintage in this region. The wine shows lovely primary fruit aromas and bright, clean cherry fruit in the mouth. The tannins are fine and soft and the finish sweet and clean. |
