This lovely estate in Neac, Lalande de Pomerol, is owned by Jerome Couecou.
Average production of the estate is 3,000 cases per year from vines of 20
years old. Merlot makes up 60% of the plantings, and Cabernet Franc makes
up the other 40%. At the estate the grapes are harvested manually. They undergo
a long, cold maceration and are vinified in concrete vats. Aging is done
one-third in new barrels, one-third in one-year barrels and one-third in
two-year-barrels. |
