Reviews for 2001 Vintage
From the International Wine Cellar (Jan/Feb 2003): "Score 89-91. (aging in 80% new and 20% one-year-old barriques) Full ruby. Musky aromas of raspberry, violet, minerals, mocha, espresso and oak. Sappy, floral and nicely delineated, with very pure, perfumed flavors of raspberry and violet. Offers a lush texture and impressive subtle persistence, with very fine tannins. Promises to be Barruol's most aromatic and successful Cote-Rotie vintage to date." © International Wine Cellar

Reviews for 2003 Vintage
From the Wine Advocate, #156 (Dec 2004): "Points: 94-96. St.-Cosme produced a great 1999, but the 2003 Cote Rotie is even more exuberant, flamboyant, and higher in alcohol (13.5%). Aged in 100% new oak, this limited production cuvee reveals scents of lychee nut, peach liqueur, and exotic, sweet crème de cassis and raspberry fruit. Amazingly long and textured, with huge glycerin, and a freakish amount of concentration, this wine (produced from yields measuring half the normal size) should hit its peak in 2-3 years, and last for 15+." © The Wine Advocate

From the International Wine Cellar (Jan/Feb 2006): "Points: 93. Bright ruby. Spicy aromas of cassis, blackberry, violet and candied rose.  Dense and wonderfully fresh, with intense red and dark fruit flavors and notes of tarragon, black pepper and floral candy. Powerful but light in weight (at about 13% alcohol) and displaying excellent balance and precision. According to Barruol, 80% of the fruit was from the Cote Brune, and the average vine yield was just 18 hectoliters per hectare. "My model is Jamet," he commented." © International Wine Cella

Reviews for 2004 Vintage
From the International Wine Cellar (Jan/Feb 2006): "Points: 92-94. Ruby-red color. Wild, potent scents of tangy dark berries, cherry, mint, violet pastille and grilled, peppery meat; this delivers real wine-class Cote–Rotie aromatics. Spicy and rich on the palate, with very sweet blackberry and cherry cola flavors accented by fruity black pepper and mocha. Finishes rich, intense and long, with firm but well-buffered tannins." © International Wine Cella
