Reviews for 2002 Vintage From the The Wine Advocate, Issue 151 (Feb 2004): "Points: 89. The outstanding 2002 Cotes du Rhone blanc is a blend of 30% Roussanne, 30% Viognier, 20% Marsanne, and 20% Clairette. The Roussanne was aged in barrel and the rest in tank. It exhibits a big, exotic, tropical fruit-scented perfume revealing notions of lilacs, honeysuckle, and passion fruit. With good acidity as well as surprising length and body, I would not have thought a wine of this quality would have been possible in the 2002 vintage, but Louis Barruol pulled it off. Enjoy it over the next 1-2 years." © The Wine Advocate Reviews for 2003 Vintage From the Wine Advocate, #156 (Dec 2004): "Points: 90. His non-oaked 2003 Cotes du Rhone Blanc (30% Roussanne, 30% Viognier, 20% Marsanne, and the rest Picpoul and Bourboulenc) is a delicious 20,000-bottle cuvee filled with decadent levels of exotic fruits, medium body, and a dry, honeyed finish." © The Wine Advocate |
