| Ch. Rose d’Orion (Montagne St. Emilion) |
| Producer Ch. Rose D’Orion (Montagne St. Emilion) Region Bordeaux, France Encepagement 70% Merlot 30% Cabernet Franc Elevage Twenty-year-old vines. Fermented in temperature-controlled cement and stainless steel tanks. Aged in one- and two-year-old barrels and stainless steel tanks. Description In the year 2000, the lesser estates in the satellite regions of St. Emilion often represent great values. Ch. Rose d’Orion, the second wine of Ch. Grand Barail, is a wonderful example of this. It has aromas of bright cherries and light toast followed by a mouthful of clean, pure cherry fruit. The tannins are ripe, smooth and round and the finish is very sweet and pleasant. This is a wine to enjoy over the next five years. |
