| Vosne Romanée au Dessus de Malconsort |
| Producer Domaine Henri et Giles Remoriquet Region Burgundy, France Encepagement 100% Pinot Noir Elevage Old vineyards. 100% new barrels. One racking before bottling. Little sulphur. No fining or filtering. Hand bottled. Description This elegant, stylish, supple and silky smooth wine is a great example of what can expect from Vosne Romanee. Aromas of toast and spice are followed by sweet, ripe, lovely fruit on the palate and layers of soft, ripe tannins and oak. This wine is very attractive to drink in its youth, but will improve with several years in bottle. Reviews for 2000 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2002): "Points: 88-91. Saturated ruby-red. Raspberry, game, cocoa, coffee and smoked meat on the nose. Fat, sweet and deep, with tangy black fruit flavors and a pliant texture. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and lovely slow-mounting fruit flavor." © International Wine Cellar Reviews for 2001 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2004): "Points: 90. Dark red-ruby. Aromas of blackberry, sassafras and oak, with a deep core of spice. Silky, thick and concentrated but not overly sweet. Complex flavors of blackberry and musky game. Finishes firmly tannic, spicy and very long, with good grip. This has considerable sex appeal." © International Wine Cellar |
