| Nuits St. Georges Les Damodes |
| Producer Domaine Henri et Giles Remoriquet Region Burgundy, France Encepagement 100% Pinot Noir Elevage 100% new barrels. One racking before bottling. Little sulphur. No fining or filtering. Hand bottled. Description The 2000 Damodes is extremely pretty. It has expressive aromas of wildflowers, spice, oak and cherries. In the mouth the lovely, complex fruit is nicely balanced with sweet oak and fine-grained textures. Its intensity, sweetness and fragrance make it seem very Vosne Romanée. Reviews for 2000 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2002): "Points: 88-91. Bright ruby-red. Black raspberry and licorice nose lifted by a floral topnote. Bright, juicy and succulent, with lovely fruit and spicy intensity. Finishes firmly tannic. Nicely balanced and complete." © International Wine Cellar Reviews for 2001 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2004): "Points: 88. Full ruby. Dark berries, violet and pipe tobacco on the nose. Juicy, sweet and firmly built, with flavors of dark berries, cola and tobacco. Finishes juicy and firmly tannic, with more sweetness than the Rue de Chaux. But grew a bit tougher as it opened in the glass." © International Wine Cellar Reviews for 2002 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2005): "Points: 87. Palish red. Cherry-berry aroma complicated by rose petal, sassafras and white truffle. Juicy, firm-edged flavors of cherry and red berries. Aromatic in the mouth but on the lean side, and a bit dry-edged on the lingering finish." © International Wine Cellar |
