| Nuits St. Georges Rue de Chaux 1er Cru |
| Producer Domaine Henri et Giles Remoriquet Region Burgundy, France Encepagement 100% Pinot Noir Elevage Old vineyards. 100% new barrels. One racking before bottling. Little sulphur. No fining or filtering. Hand bottled. Description The Rue de Chaux is from the Premeaux side of Nuits St. Georges near the village. It has classic Nuits character: denser, more tannic, more minerality. In its youth, it is a bit more closed than the others, but with time it has the intensity of fruit to balance its tannic structure and will be lovely in 3-5 years. Reviews for 2000 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2003): "Points: 88. Bright, full red. Superripe aromas of redcurrant liqueur, raspberry jam and sexy oak; just this side of over the top. Lush, sweet and concentrated, with very ripe redcurrant and oak flavors. Finishes with big but even tannins." © International Wine Cellar Reviews for 2001 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2004): "Points: 86. Medium ruby. Complex, perfumed aromas of redcurrant, marzipan and tobacco. Fairly intense but slightly dryedged in the mouth, with a saline quality and a peppery nuance. A slightly rasping wood note dried the finish and reduced my enthusiasm for this wine." © International Wine Cellar |
