Benjamin de Pontet is the second wine of the highly regarded second growth
Pauillac estate, Pontet Canet. Lots selected for the second wine are either
from younger vines or barrels chosen because they do not have the intensity
of concentration or tannic structure to become part of the Grand Vin. The
second wine follows the same élevage as the Grand Vin, but does not require
the same length of time in bottle to be ready for consumption. Benjamin de
Pontet has the same flavor profile, but is more lush and forward.
