Producer Patrick Lesec Selections (Southern Rhône) Region Southern Rhône, France Encepagement 50% Merlot 50% Syrah Elevage 12 year old vines Low yield, 45hectolitres per hectare From stony hillside vineyards southeast of Avignon in the town of Noves Destemmed 100% aged in tank 2 week maceration Reviews From the Wine Advocate, #173 (Oct 2007): “Points: 87. For starters, there are terrific values at the lower end of the spectrum, including his non-vintage Petite Crau All of this comes from 2006. It is a blend of Grenache and Carignan and is what the French call a vin de table, but it is also a wine of pleasure. Dense ruby/purple, chuncky, fleshy, it has surprising personality and soul for a wine in this price range. Drink it over the next several years.” © The Wine Advocate Reviews for 2003 Vintage From the Wine Advocate, #156 (Dec 2004): "Points: 86. Cut from the same cloth with more body and herbes de Provence as well as a slightly earthy, leathery component, is the 2003 VDP Petit Crau. A tank-aged blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre, it should drink well for 1-3 years." © The Wine Advocate |
