Description This distinctive Chateauneuf du Pape with 30% Mourvedre combines ripe fruit with the earthy, wet animal fur characteristics typical of this region. Reviews for 2003 Vintage From the Wine Advocate, #156 (Dec 2004): "Points: 90-93. Aromas of new and old saddle leather, aged beef, and a touch of brett jump from the glass of the meaty, horsy 2003 Chateauneuf du pape Chasse-Temps. A blend of both foudre and tank-aged Grenache (70%) and Mourvedre (the latter component may account for this wine’s animalistic style), this rich, full-bodied, kinky Chateauneuf may be controversial, but I enjoyed it. It should drink well for 10-12 years. The sources for this cuvee include the Palestor and Cabrieres vineyards." © The Wine Advocate |
