Whole cluster fermentation. 100% aged in tank. Not fined or filtered. Description Old vineyards and poor stony soils make this Côtes du Rhône Villages from Cairanne dense and rich, smooth and supple. It combines bright red and black currant fruit with round, soft tannins. The finish is sweet and long, clean and pleasant. Reviews for 2003 Vintage From the Wine Advocate, #156 (Dec 2004): "Points: 84-86. Both the 2003 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Marco (from Vinsobres) and 2003 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Cairanne Vieilles Vignes are slightly compressed, earthy, and rustic, without the charm of their siblings. Their tannin is also drier and more austere. They may flesh out and soften before they are bottled." © The Wine Advocate |
