Reviews for 2000 Vintage From the Wine Advocate, #138 (Dec 2001): "Points: 87-89. A promising, value-priced offering, the 2000 Cotes du Rhone Les Beaumes (a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah), was about to be bottled when I saw the wine. It possesses a deep ruby/purple color, a sexy, layered texture, and notes of pepper, kirsch liqueur, framboise, and garrigue (that earthy, Provencal herb combination). A big wine, it will drink well for 2-3 years." © The Wine Advocate Reviews for 2001 Vintage From the Wine Advocate, #145 (Feb 2003): "Points: 90. [The 2001 Cotes du Rhone les Beaumes is] produced from a vineyard adjacent to Chateauneuf du Pape, and is primarily tank-aged Grenache with a dollop of Syrah in the the blend. Reminiscent of an old style Chateauneuf, it possesses copious quantities of kirsch liqueur intermixed with pepper, lavender, and tobacco notes. Surprisingly rich, full-bodied, and unctuous, there are 20,000 bottles of this hedonistic turn on. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years." © The Wine Advocate Reviews for 2003 Vintage From the Wine Advocate, #156 (Dec 2004): "Points: 88-90. The 2003 Cotes du Rhone Les Beaumes is a knock-out. Made from 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, it tips the scales at a whopping 15.5% alcohol. Offering a lovely kiss of kirsch liqueur along with plenty of fat and glycerin as well as a heady, ripe, chewy finish, this is the poor person’s Chateauneuf du Pape. It should drink well for 3-4 years." © The Wine Advocate |
