Description
The slate soil of Saint Chinian typically gives the Syrah and Grenache great power and concentration, a supple texture and soft, round tannins. This ancient family estate in the commune of Babeau uses a high percentage of Syrah aged in new oak, but softens the wine by blending in a portion of Carignan which has gone through carbonic maceration and is lush, soft and fruity. The result is a forward wine, round, supple and ready to drink young, which has loads of sweet fruit and the texture and richness of the powerful Syrah aged in new wood.
