Description
The Meursault Poruzots 1er cru has an intense floral nose of toast and oriental
spices. It is dense and full in the mouth with pear and quince flavors and some
distinct oak character. The finish is very rich with complex fruit flavors.
The quantity of Poruzots is very limited.
Reviews for 2000 Vintage
From the The
Wine Advocate, Issue 138 (Dec 2001): "Points: 89-90. The aromatically
intense 2000 Meursault Poruzots reveals smoky mineral scents. Tropical fruits
are interspersed with tangy lemons and minerals in this sultry, sexy wine.
Beautifully balanced, this offering also offers a long, plump, supple finish.
Drink it over the next 6-7 years." © The

From the International
Wine Cellar (Sep/Oct 2002): "Points: 90. Expressive nose
combines apple, peach and peach blossom, cinnamon, almond butter and spicy,
charred oak. Supple and juicy, with moderately ripe flavors of peach, citrus
fruits, spices and minerals. A fairly generous wine with good focus and structure.
Bright, persistent finish features good dusty mineral extract and grip." © International

Reviews for 2001 Vintage
From the International Wine Cellar (Sep/Oct 2004): "Points: 89. Aromatic nose combines orange, oatmeal, vanilla, nutmeg and hazelnut; very Meursault. Then juicy, lively and brisk, with a perfumed orange oil aspect and a repeating note of hazelnut. The firmest and most shapely of these 2001s to this point." © International Wine Cellar
Reviews for 2002 Vintage
From the International Wine Cellar (Sep/Oct 2004): "Points: 90-92.
Highly aromatic nose combines apple, citrus fruits, white flowers, spicy oak and licorice. Silky on entry, then rich and bright in the middle, with ripe grapefruit and lemon flavors nicely firmed by integrated acidity. Less dry on the finish than the Boucheres. Quite subtle for Poruzots (‘less rustic than usual,’ according to Latour)." © International Wine Cellar
From the The Wine Advocate, Issue 151 (Feb 2004): "Points: 88-90.
Rich aromas of almonds, spices, and talcum powder can be found in the nose of the 2002 Meursault Poruzots. Light to medium-bodied, deep, fresh, focused, and concentrated, it is a candidate for drinking over the next 5 years." © The Wine Advocate
