| Ch. Lamothe-Vincent (Bordeaux) |
| Producer Ch. Lamothe-Vincent (Bordeaux) Region Bordeaux, France Encepagement 70% Merlot 30% Cabernet Sauvignon Elevage Nineteen-year-old vines. Rocky clay-limestone and deep clay soils. Fermented in stainless steel. Aged 14 months in barrel: 25% new, 25% one-year, 25% two-year, and 25% three-year. Description Patrick Lesec describes this lovely example of the charms of the 2001 vintage on the right bank as a very "natural" wine. In other words, it is very fresh, bright and pure with aromas of plum and blackberry. Lush cherry fruit in the mouth and a clean, pleasing finish make it an excellent value in Bordeaux for early consumption. |
