Aged in one- and two-year-old barrels. Description Ch. Hourtin-Ducasse is a lovely example of the great success of the 2000 vintage in the Cabernet-based wines of the Haut Medoc. Because this wine is not aged in new barrels, its predominant character is the dense, sweet, ripe fruit at its core. Aging in barrel gives it fine texture and roundness, but the lush, soft, natural grape tannins keep it clean and elegant. This wine will give great pleasure over the next five years.
