Producer Grande Maison Region Southwest France Encepagement 50% Semillon 45% Muscadelle 5% Sauvignon Blanc Elevage Ninety-year-old vines. Four hectoliters per hectare. Description Cuvée Madame is produced in very limited quantities from ancient, low yielding vines. There are many pickings of individual berries with advanced botrytis. The wine is particularly sweet and intense with a deep golden yellow color even in its youth. It combines very complex fruit characters (nectar of peaches, apricots, nectarines) with layers of vanilla cream and toast. It exhibits wonderfully fragrant exotic fruit aromas and has an unbelievably long finish. Cuvée Madame ranks with the best of the great wines of Sauternes and Barsac.
