Fermentation is in temperature-controlled concrete vats. 25% new barrels per year. Description Ch. du Couvent is the second wine of Clos René, Pomerol. Made from barrels not considered concentrated enough for the grand vin, this lovely example of the 2000 vintage is fleshy and forward and ready to enjoy in its youth. Aromas of bright cherry fruit and cedar are followed by a mouthful of sweet plum and cherry fruit. The tannins are ripe and soft as befits a second wine, and the finish is sweet, clean and smooth.
