Elevage Seven-month fermentation with wild yeast. 100% new barrels, aged for 16 months. Bottled by gravity. Fined, not filtered. Racked once before bottling. Reviews for 2000 Vintage From the The Wine Advocate, Issue 138 (Dec 2001): "Points: 91-93. The spiced apple and poached pear-scented 2000 Batard-Montrachet is medium to full-bodied and displays outstanding depth in its chewy-textured character. It is fat yet fresh, and reveals numerous layers of sweet white fruits, vanilla, and cinnamon throughout its flavor profile and extensive finish. Projected maturity: now-2011." © The Wine Advocate From the International Wine Cellar (Sept/Oct 2002): "Points: 90-93. Cool yet very ripe aromas of yellow plum, peach, honeysuckle and menthol. Urgent but supple, with noteworthy concentration and a layered texture. Powerful and long on the back end, with a suggestion of orange juice. Like the Pucelles, this is very ripe but also possesses sound acidity." © International Wine Cellar |
