| Gevrey Chambertin Les Combottes |
| Producer Domaine Pierre Amiot Region Burgundy, France Encepagement 100% Pinot Noir Elevage 1er cru. One-third old vines (70 years old), two-thirds young vines (12-14 years old). 100% aged in new oak barrels. One racking by hand before bottling. Not fined or filtered. Bottled by hand. Description The nose has aromas of roasted coffee, sweet fruit and spice. In the palate are concentrated, sweet red fruits (strawberry, cherry and cassis) and soft, round mocha/chocolate tannins. The finish is sweet and long and this wine will benefit from a few years of bottle aging. Reviews for 2002 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2005): "Points: 89. Medium red. Medicinal cherry, earth, leather and underbrush on the nose. Sweet, broad and concentrated, with fresh flavors of cherry and smoked meat. Densely packed Gevrey, finishing with strong fruit, a whiff of leather and sweet tannins." © International Wine Cellar |
