Producer Domaine Pierre Amiot Region Burgundy, France Encepagement 100% Pinot Noir Elevage Two-thirds old vines 50 years old, one-third young vines 12-15 years old. Grand Cru. Aged in 100% new oak barrels. One racking by hand. Not fined or filtered. Bottled by hand. Description The 2000 vintage of this grand cru is lush, ripe, soft and forward and will drink well young. It has a fragrant nose of black fruits and toast and plenty of super-ripe, sweet fruit on the palate. The layers of round, ripe tannins and vanilla oak give it a smooth texture and long generous finish. Reviews for 2000 Vintage From the International Wine Cellar (Mar/Apr 2003): "Points: 92. Good full red. Highly nuanced nose combines sappy cherry, black raspberry, sassafras, spices, meat and menthol. Very suave and sexy wine, with concentrated, cool flavors of crystallized black raspberry and blueberry, complicated by wild notes of leather and meat.
